Assignment Optimizer
The assignment model, along with the Hungarian algorithm, is a powerful mathematical technique used to optimize the allocation of machinery to workers based on their skills. In organizations with workers possessing diverse skill sets, it is crucial to assign the right workers to the appropriate machines to effectively control production costs and maintain product quality. The Hungarian algorithm, specifically designed for assignment problems, enables companies to make optimal worker-machine assignments, thereby helping them achieve the desired product quality while controlling production costs.

Job classification
The major classification in assignment problems is the classification on the products that we manufacture in our production layout because it directly replicates customer preference. For example, we can classify the product based on its quality, surface finish, material choices, and batches (no. of products) based on this requirement we have to choose machine and manpower.
Machine Classification
The production floor contains a wide range of machines that have their own capabilities. We can classify these machines into the following characteristics and we code each machine with its capabilities.
- Rate of production
- Type of machine (computerized or non-computerized)
- Finish quality
- Fine
- Good
- Best
- Other customer preference
Manpower Classification
Once we classified the job to be produced and the categories of machines on the job floor, we classify the available manpower based on their skill sets. A job floor produces a batch of different products which may require a specific skill set to produce the product with the desired quality. Assigning a worker without planning might slow down the operation and affect the quality of the final product,
